Private tour to Guatapé and Piedra del Peñol
Private tour from Medellín: breakfast at Alto del Chocho, the Upside-Down House, Piedra del Peñol, lunch at the Malecón and the town of painted zócalos.
An experience through one of the most iconic destinations in Antioquia.
01 · First stop · Antioquian tradition
Alto del Chocho
Before we reach the reservoir, we pause at El Alto del Chocho, on the Marinilla–El Peñol road: a first immersion in paisa tradition and the rural landscape of Antioquia. We begin with a full Antioquian breakfast, included in the experience.
Breakfast included
- Come close and feed the llamas; meet ostriches, horses, alpacas and other farm animals.
- An equestrian show and an experience with the classic Willys jeeps.
- The perfect start to enjoy Guatapé unhurried, connecting first with the customs and life of the region.
02 · Second stop · Inverted perspective
The Upside-Down House
Here logic changes direction. We step into La Casa al Revés, the Upside-Down House, a space created to play with perspective and discover scenes where everything seems to defy gravity: furniture, objects and everyday corners flip around and become the perfect setting for surprising photographs. A light, fun and different stop on the way to Guatapé.
Admission included
- Play with scenes designed to create perspective effects and out-of-the-ordinary photographs.
- The staff on site help you find the angle and the pose that work best in each room.
- Admission is already included in our tour.
03 · The natural icon
Piedra del Peñol
A monolith over two hundred meters tall that rises from the reservoir and defines the landscape of eastern Antioquia. Climbing the Piedra del Peñol is the iconic stop of the tour: 700 steps set into the rock that, step by step, open up the view until you reach the lookout at the top. From above, the Guatapé reservoir unfolds into a labyrinth of green water, islands and forested peninsulas, with the town drawn in the distance.
Admission not included
- Climb at your own pace up the zigzag staircase and watch the landscape change with every stretch.
- From the lookout, the most complete panorama of the reservoir and the quintessential photo spot of Guatapé.
- Admission to the Rock is not included; it is paid at the ticket office on the day of the tour.
04 · Fourth stop · Flavors over the reservoir
Guatapé Malecón
After visiting the great icons of the region, it is time to experience Guatapé from another perspective. From the malecón we connect with the reservoir for a gastronomic pause at a spectacular restaurant surrounded by the landscape of the dam. There we enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch, included in the experience, in a setting where the water, the mountains and the calm of the journey are also part of the table. A moment to slow down, share and enjoy one of the most special landscapes of Guatapé before continuing the trip.
Lunch included
Drinks not included
- Enjoy a gourmet lunch included in the tour, with the reservoir as the backdrop.
- Pause by the water and take in the mountains and the town from a different perspective.
- Share a quiet moment before continuing to the next experiences of the tour.
05 · Fifth stop · Color and tradition
Town of Guatapé
We end the tour in the heart of Guatapé, where color is part of the identity of the town. We walk among vibrant facades, balconies, streets full of life and the traditional zócalos, the sculpted baseboards that tell stories through their shapes and reliefs. It is the moment to explore Guatapé calmly, discover its corners, enjoy its atmosphere and capture some of the most special photographs of the trip. After the landscape, the food and the great icons of the region, we arrive at a place where the culture, architecture and everyday life of Antioquia give the tour a closing full of personality.
